Dear Fellow Alumni,
How exciting that this school year marks the 50th year of Greene Central High School, and how appropriate to announce the establishment of Greene Central High School Alumni Inc.!
Many alumni feel that after 49 years of providing quality education and graduating over 10,000 students, Greene Central needs and deserves our support, both financial and otherwise. We all understand that education is one of the best ways to ensure meaningful futures for our students. Quality education is essential today more than ever because it equips students to make their dreams come true. Our schools serve as the foundation for transforming kids and cultivating them into mature, contributing individuals and citizens. To assist Greene Central in this effort, it is time for us to give back.
The founding of a GCHS Alumni Association is a positive, public way for us to express our loyalty to and pride in Greene Central. By choice we can be a united part of causes important to Greene Central, and a public voice of support. We can also provide a venue for Greene Central graduates to stay in touch, to affirm the importance of Greene Central in their lives, and to support Greene Central in the future. A Facebook page has been set up, and we would like to thank all who have joined there. We will also periodically update this web page on Greene Central’s home site. Check it periodically. But now it is time that we embark on an intensive membership drive in order to establish a strong base for organization and planning. Please officially join our alumni association and encourage those alumni around you to join as well.
Once we are strong in number we can begin to periodically meet and plan our directions. Football Homecoming 2011 is Friday, September 23, 7:30. This is Homecoming for Alumni as well. Let’s come out in huge numbers and support our Rams! The next week, our first official meeting will be held at Greene Central High School library on Thursday, September 29, at 7 p.m. Mark your calendar for both events. We hope you will join us in our mission to become a driving force to support Greene Central and its students for years to come. This is a grassroots movement. Only our imagination limits us at this time.
